Director, Head of Analyst and Media Relations

We seek an enthusiastic and results-oriented Director/Head of Analyst and Media Relations to join our team. You are responsible for building, managing, and protecting Sonrai’s reputation in the market and raising awareness by communicating key messages via media and analyst relations. You will act as a primary point of contact with industry analysts and media outlets, pro-actively pitching stories, responding to incoming inquiries, developing media and analyst relationships, and acting as a spokesperson for Sonrai Security. Additionally, you will regularly provide strategic communications counsel to management with clear recommendations based on experience and key internal stakeholder buy-in.
Sonrai Security is a rapidly growing venture-funded SaaS cloud security company. It is named a 2021 Gartner Cool Vendor and has offices in New York and New Brunswick, Canada. It recently secured $50M Series C funding and is backed by ISTARI, Polaris Partners, Menlo Ventures, and TenEleven Ventures.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute PR strategies to improve Sonrai’s brand awareness and maintain a positive organizational image to external and internal parties
- Manage all analyst activities, including strategic approaches to market share reports, GTM launches, briefings, inquiries, and strategic advisory sessions
- Work with the marketing team and external agency to uncover new PR opportunities, write and issue press releases, handle media relations and media requests, and build greater visibility for Sonrai Security
- Develop a pipeline of news announcements, media pitches, bylined articles, and expert commentary
- Actively identify, engage, manage, and influence a network of industry analysts
- Maintain and leverage past well-established contacts and develop relationships with new contacts involved in a variety of channels to maximize exposure
- Establish metrics to drive brand awareness and revenue growth through customer, media, and analyst feedback
- Support and stay connected to influencers and social media channels
Desired candidates will have:
- 5-10 years of proven leadership in AR/PR/comms in a technology company
- Must have experience in Security, DevOps, or Cloud
- A storyteller who can turn complex ideas into simple, visually impactful narratives
- Prior experience creating and implementing multi-pronged PR strategies as well as media relations programs
- Experience directly interacting with Gartner, Forrester and other major IT industry analyst firms
- Experience managing evaluations for Gartner Magic Quadrant and Forrester Wave
- Proven experience collaboratively working with cross-functional teams
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills, especially to executive leadership
- Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and thrives in a fast-paced environment where initiative is rewarded
- Creative and innovative thinker who is willing to take risks, fail fast, iterate, and learn
